Mario Dedivanovic does it AGAIN!!

Yes that's right, on August 13, 2011 the very talented Mario Dedivanovic graced our presence yet again. This is his 3rd time hosting a workshop for us, and he always gives so much. His tips and tricks alone are enough to kick your personal make up career in gear! Everyone had a blast, and we were very happy to get amazing photographer, Mark Sacro, on board to shoot for the Artist Portfolio Event.

The day started off with artists lined up at the door for entry, eager and patiently waiting to see Mr. Dedivanovic work his magic in person. It's a first come first save event, so seat selection was crucial. We had artists who flew in from New York and Canada, and we were honored that they made the trip. Once Mario hit the stage, all was quiet, and the artists had their pen and paper ready. Mario's model for the day was the beautiful Zuleyka Silver. who was the winner in his model search for the chance to be his "face" for the day. After the flawless make up was done, everyone gathered around and the camera's flashed. Catering for the day was provided by Wood Ranch BBQ & Grill, and Pinkberry was another special treat for all of our guests! Almost too full to continue with the day, twelve artists stayed to participate in the Artist Portfolio Event. Photographer Mark Sacro set up as the make up artists worked on their models, and Mario walked around checking on everyone. The skill in the room that day was amazing. We were very pleased with the turnout, and as you can see below the pictures are beautiful!

Our talented artists...

There is only so much information one can retain when learning something new. This is why we give our attendees the option of choosing our Artist Portfolio Event when signing up to take one of our workshops. It's the opportunity to build your own personal portfolio, using specific techniques shared by our guest host. It's also a time for artists to use products they may have never worked with before, or even choose a model whose skin tone they're not familiar with.

Artists leave their egos at the door, and just focus on doing what they love with other like minded people. Staying humble and consistently practicing your craft will keep you motivated and current in an industry that's constantly changing. Now we can FINALLY dish....

...With so many people not able to attend our workshop with celebrity make up artist, Mario Dedivanovic, we wanted to be careful how we let you in on the experience. Mario has been so gracious in giving us his time and energy for this wonderful event. He cares so much about all artists, so those who were too far away or who just couldn't make the date...we will be doing another one very soon!

There is no greater gift than meeting and gaining words of wisdom from someone you respect and admire. So, we'd like to think that we were able to provide 40 artists with such a gift on December 4th and January 16th! You all love his work, so we wanted you to see him create that flawless face, up close and personal! Mario was not holding back any of his tips and tricks. The attendees were all ears, with pen and paper ready as he shared signature details. Using specific products to achieve his model's look, gave us insight like no other.

During the hands on portion of the workshop, the artists were given a chance to show Mario what they learned on their own model. Mario was able to walk the room offering feedback and suggestions to artists who requested it. We encouraged the artists to step out of their comfort zone, in trying new products and techniques. This particular element of our event is what sets us apart from other workshops out there!
